Fresh Lemon Sorbet Recipe
2 cups sugar
2 cups water
1 ½ cups fresh lemon juice (or juice of about 6 lemons)
1 Tablespoon grated lemon zest if desired
1) Prepare your sugar mixture
In a medium saucepan, whisk sugar and water under medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Cool completely in the refrigerator.
2) Whisk in the lemon ingredients and process in an ice cream maker
Whisk in lemon juice and lemon zest. Pour into an ice cream maker and mix for 30-40 minutes. If desired, transfer sorbet into an airtight container and place in the freezer for 2 hours or until firm. This recipe makes eight, half cup servings of Fresh Lemon Sorbet.
