Earth "Balance" claims to be environmentally-conscious, organic, sustainable and harmonious with vegans and the planet. They are lying.

They claim to use only existing plantations of palm trees and do not seek other sources. They are lying.

They claim they are not harming the environment. They are lying.

While their corporate plantations are, in fact, existing and established on the mainland and not on the peninsula, they purchase from sources in Indonesia that cut through rainforests like it was acreage of wheat, displacing indigenous peoples and destroying wildlife habitat for orangutans, tapirs and other endangered species.

Conversely, Spectrum Organics (which DOES have sustainable practices) is being forced out of existence by this corporate pig.

The only way to stop this is through consumer demand. Talk to your grocery store about carrying Spectrum Organics Spread as an alternative to Earth Balance, and purchase only that which does, in fact, seek to achieve a balance...instead of just showing concern for their financial balance.

I'm trying to buy fewer things in plastic these days, so we've just been using the sticks. I'll have to check now when I get home...
