beckyk created a new topic Wedding Cake in the forums.
OK...so maybe I got a little excited, but I offered to make my little cousin's wedding cake next spring. The good thing is she's veg, so that helps. Anyone have any cake tips or suggestions for me? I haven't baked a large vegan cake yet so I'm wondering if I need to be aware of any issues. I plan on starting to test cake flavors soon.

Mattie Just ate at Peacefood Cafe in NYC and wow! The food is as good as the desserts. None of it 'tasted vegan'.

Here's a Tip!

Yeast should be stored in the refrigerator to prevent spoiling. Stored in this manner, yeast will keep for up to six months. To test your yeast to see if it's still good, combine 1 teaspoon sugar and 2 teaspoons yeast with ¼ cup warm water. If the mixture starts bubbling it's still good. If it doesn't it should be discarded.
